Pepper of Lucanian cuisine with a deep red colour and sweet flavour. A dried product that can be used as a side dish or snack, and as an ingredient in other dishes, including pasta and fish. It can also be used crumbled as to enrich meats, pulses, bakery products, chocolate and ice cream. Because of its many uses, it is often referred to as the ‘red gold’ of Basilicata.
